Whatever happened to that love so fine?

I've written so many poems, but this is my first attempt at a love poem :) Enjoy reading!

Two am and my eyes refuse to budge
The head says sleep, yet the heart remains unfazed
Shattered, broken, all thanks to you
The one I called love, the cause of this grievance

Provebial sticks and stones never succeeded in breaking my heart
Yet your words pierced right through, leaving a scar so deep

Whatever happened to that love so fine?
That foundation we painstakingly built up, all that's left are memories
I thought I gave you my word of devotion, and you gave me yours
Tell me, what happened between us dear?

You wanted the stars, I scaled the greatest mountains for you
You yearned for pearls, I braved the stormy seas for you
This, dear, my word of devotion to you
Could this proof of love be so insufficient as you put it out to be?

Whatever happened to that love so fine?
That foundation we painstakingly built up, all that's left are memories
Dear I gave you my all, and I'm left with nothing more
